In social networks, a billionaire is criticized for useless, according to users, a waste of money, recall working conditions in Amazon and ironic over the shape of the ship.

On July 20, the founder and former head of Amazon went to suborbital flight on the New Shepard ship of his company Blue Origin, which lasted about 10 minutes. The capsule rose by 100 kilometers - at this height there is a conditional border of space, which is recognized by most countries in the world.
Together with the Bezos, his brother Mark, the female aviation pioneer Wally Fank and the 18-year-old Olivier Daen, the place of which was bought by his father, flew. They spent about four minutes in zero gravity, and then began a decrease. The capsule slowed down with the help of parachutes and landed in the desert of West Texas, where it was found by Blue Origin employees.

In social networks, even before the start of flight, they skeptically reacted to the launch of the company Bezos - many wished the businessman to stay in space. More than 150 thousand people signed a petition and asked the entrepreneur not to return to Earth.
After the end of the flight, some still congratulated the Bezos - including NASA representatives.
During the broadcast of the flight, Twitter users drew attention to the unusual shape of the New Shepard ship - and began to ironize over it.
The attention of social networks was also attracted by the cowboy hat, in which the Bezos came out of the capsule landing to the ground.
The flight itself did not impress many. The height of the ascent on Twitter was considered insufficient to call it cosmic, although formally the Bezos crossed the conventional border of the cosmos. Others noted that the entrepreneur made a flight similar to the fact that they took place in the 1960s.
The idea of such space tourism seemed to users unattractive and unrealistic, as well as achievable only for several billionaires in the world.
Bezos also recalled the working conditions in his company Amazon, deciding that he could spend money that had gone to flight to improve the well -being of employees. Warehouse workers often complained about minimal wages, processing, fines for being late per minute and the absence of overtime. Couriers said that they have to urinate daily into water bottles, so as not to be late with delivery. Amazon was also accused of monitoring and creating obstacles in the formation of trade unions.

Twitter also noted that they would not criticize the entrepreneur for an expensive flight if he regularly paid taxes. In early June, Propublica found out that Bezos pays less than 1% of income tax per year. From 2014 to 2018, he earned $ 99 billion and paid 4.33 billion from this - his real tax rate was 0.98%. And in 2007, he did not pay anything at all.
Bezos defenders were also found - in their opinion, the entrepreneur develops the space program, and does not fly into space for the sake of entertainment or attracting attention.
There were enough other jokes - Bezos was compared with Bruce Willis from Armageddon, they recalled quotes about the astronauts from the Maders, photoshopped to the cast of the “fantastic four” and created art based on the New Shepard ship.
