In Yaroslavl, the police reduced the amount of the claim against the ex-head of Navalny’s local headquarters by 40%

In Yaroslavl, the police abandoned 40% of the claims in the lawsuit against the former coordinator of Navalny’s local headquarters, Elena Lekiashvili. This is reported by “Apology of Protest”.

Initially, the Ministry of Internal Affairs demanded to recover 495 thousand rubles from the activist as compensation for the protection of public order during protests in support of Alexei Navalny on January 23. “Apology of Protest,” with reference to a certificate of calculation, clarifies that this is exactly how much the work of police officers on a day off cost.

At the same time, the police refused to declassify information about the employees of the two departments and the costs for them, so they decided to abandon part of the claims in the amount of 199 thousand rubles.

“The Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reduces claims by the amount of compensation payments to employees of BSTM , OPB in the amount of 199,240 rubles. This decrease is due to the special status of employees, information about which constitutes a state secret,” Apology of Protest quotes from the police clarification.

Now the Ministry of Internal Affairs demands to recover 296,175 rubles from Lekiashvili. The case is currently being considered; the activist’s interests are being represented in court by lawyers from Apology of Protest.

The police filed a lawsuit against Lekiashvili because she was found guilty under the article on organizing an uncoordinated action (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) due to the rally on January 23 in Yaroslavl.

Later it became known that the Ministry of Internal Affairs filed a similar claim, but for the amount of 646 thousand rubles, against Alexander Smirnov, who previously also headed Navalny’s local headquarters. A protocol was also drawn up against him regarding the organization of an uncoordinated action on January 23 (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).

The police filed the same lawsuits in other cities - Penza , Ufa , Kirov , Kemerovo , Omsk and Chelyabinsk .
