Ingush protest leaders extended the term of detention in the pre -trial detention center until November 9

The Kislovodsk City Court extended the term of detention in the pre -trial detention center of the Ingush protest leaders until November 9. It is reported by Fortanga.

At meetings on July 20 and 21, the court questioned one witness of the prosecution and 15 defense witnesses.

The evidence, the former deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ingushetia, Mikhail Polishchuk, said that the defendants violated the rules of the rally, but did not incite the protesters to a clash with the Rosgvardyers.

Witnesses of the defense, ex-genurants of the same case, unanimously stated that the defendants called not to attack the security forces, but, on the contrary, stop violence. Despite this, the court extended the accused the term of detention in the pre -trial detention center.

In total, seven people are taking place in the case: Ahmed Barakhoev, Musa Malsagov, Ismail Nalgiev, Zarifa Sautiev, Malsag Tsurnov, Bagaudin Khautiev and Barukh Chemurziev.

Protest leaders are charged with an article on organizing violence in relation to police officers (part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code using part 3 of article 33 of the Criminal Code). In addition, Barakhoev, Gorokhov and Malsagov is charged with the organization of the activities of the extremist community (part 1 of article 282.1 of the Criminal Code), and the rest - participation in it (part 2 of article 282.1 of the Criminal Code).

Barakhoev and Gorokhov are also accused of involvement in a non -profit organization encroaching on the personality and rights of citizens (Article 239 of the Criminal Code), and only Barakhoeva - in failure to fulfill the obligation to notify the presence of second citizenship (Article 330.2 of the Criminal Code).

• According to the Memorial human rights center, on June 3, 2021, in connection with the rally of 2019, 51 people were brought to criminal liability in Magas, with respect to three of them, the persecution was stopped. More than 30 defendants in the Ingush case were sentenced to terms from five months to three and a half years.
• In September 2018, the authorities of Ingushetia and Chechny signed an agreement on changing the border between the republics, after which protests began in Ingushetia. On March 26, 2019, about 10 thousand people entered the rally in Magas. About two thousand protesters remained on the square for the whole night. In the morning they began to disperse them, as a result of which clashes occurred between the security forces and the protesters.
