
At 11:00 on Sunday in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt, the main naval parade dedicated to the Day of the Russian Navy started.
The parade is attended by 4 thousand military personnel, 50 ships and submarines, as well as 50 aircraft and helicopters. In St. Petersburg, the Marshal Ustinov missile cruiser and the Admiral Kasatonov frigate are involved. In the parade in Kronstadt, nuclear submarines "Eagle" and "Vepr" take part in the parade. President Vladimir Putin also arrived in St. Petersburg to the parade.
The broadcast of the Navy Day is the first channel , the Zvezda TV channel, RBC and others.
The parade is carried out without spectators-by decision of Rospotrebnadzor, due to high risks in connection with the tense situation with Covid-19. Residents of St. Petersburg note that they are not allowed to be on the embankments of the water area where the ships lined up.
Until 14:00, dozens of streets and several bridges in the center of St. Petersburg were blocked (here is the list ). The townspeople say that they cannot get into institutions located next to the streets closed for movement.
Previously announced salute at the walls of the Peter and Paul Fortress will not take place, they confirmed the “paper” in the press service of the Navy on July 25. Salute with fireworks will be launched only in Kronstadt. At 22:00 in the Peter and Paul Fortress, they will give only a double cannon volley, which will become a signal for the beginning of a fireworks in Kronstadt.
The concert dedicated to the Navy Day at 19:00 will begin at the Oktyabrsky BKZ. It will show him on the air of the St. Petersburg channel.
