The "Great Power of Art" is perceived in different ways. I will give a few examples.
We are sitting in the company of boys on the summer site and watching the movie "Caucasian captive". There are two ladies of Balzakov's age in front of the bench. One says the other:
“That's what this young fool needs?” Etush is such a darling, I would have surrendered to him, even if he had not asked.
In Facebook, a discussion unfolded about the meaning of the picture of Munk "Scream". One of the comments:
- Cho is he screaming like that? Nevertheless, they have normal in Norway, if the artist lived in Russia, then it is clear.
The literature teacher asks teenagers, what is the meaning of the novel "War and Peace"? The correct answer, as you guessed, is the patriotism of the people. One girl decided to say how she understood the work:
- The point is that it is better to live a short life, but bright than long and boring. The teacher was taken aback by:
- No, well, wait, but what about patriotism?
- Elena Viktorovna, let it stay for old age, teach grandchildren.
Once, a conversation came to the company about revenge. It is clear that they did not go far for examples, but remembered Count Monte Cristo and Hamlet. If the first had financial resources for revenge, then the second could rely only on his sophisticated mind. The dispute instantly switched to another branch, which is better than money or mind? Not, of course, not for life, but for the implementation of their own sinister plans. One of my comrade listened, shook his head and said:
- And it’s good that it works so that God does not give a strucking cow.
The boundaries of high art and low are very conditional. There are melodies that like a huge number of people, despite cultural, intellectual, national, racial, ethical and aesthetic differences. Maybe the great power of art is that it helps to include in the head those neurons that are responsible for the production of dopamine?
