Here is the story of the opposition, who decided to participate in the elections

Violetta Grudina used to head the headquarters of Alexei Navalny in Murmansk - before the regional headquarters of politics recognized as “extremist”. And in the summer of 2021 she stated that she would run for the local city council. After that, a criminal case was opened against her because of the coronavirus, which the opposition was ill in June: the Ministry of Internal Affairs claim that she did not observe quarantine and “contacted an indefinite number of people”. In addition to this in mid -July, the sternum was hospitalized by court decision - despite the negative test and the lack of symptoms. July 26 - after almost two weeks in the hospital - the oppositionistannounced a hunger strike. Medusa talked with the sternum about everything that was happening.

I feel like a ruin - I'm on a hunger strike. Now frank torture is coming at me. They bring me food, and she stands in the ward at least an hour. Doctors look with guilty eyes and say that they simply execute the order of the administration [hospital].

I announced a hunger strike on July 26 at seven in the morning. I demand that my documents [for nomination] that I handed over to the doctors be handed over to the election. Only the head doctor can assure and transfer them. I cannot hand them out of the hospital on my own.

Other methods, except for a hunger strike, do not work. All my statements are ignored, doctors are forbidden to communicate with me. And the administrative staff and the chief physician avoid me in every possible way. They literally run away from the head of my election headquarters, who went to an appointment with these "United Russia" doctors . They did not give any intelligible answers. Will my documents be transferred or returned to me? They say nothing. For me, the ignoring strategy has been chosen, I'm on their territory.

At the same time, I maintained contact with junior medical personnel. Immediately after I was “packaged” to the hospital, I volunteer in the dining room for a couple of days. It was an nonsense work: to collect plates, to throw food. But at some point they told me that the order came from above: I need to remove me. I wanted to bring at least some social benefit, but the hospital administration simply did not allow to do this.

After that, I was very worried about the doctors who talked with me. I was afraid that they could even be fired. And my fears were justified. The doctor on duty, who accepted the documents from me for nomination and submitted them to the name of the head doctor [Arkady Amozov], disappeared from the department. Rumor has it that he was fired - but these are rumors.

In addition, doctors are now ignoring my demand for me to conduct a covid test to me. In accordance with the court decision, I must be in a medical institution to another negative test on Covid. I am doing tests, examinations, CT [computer tomography], but they come up with any excuse so as not to make a test and not write out. And I have confidence that they will keep me until the registration of candidates for deputies will end. And it ends on August 9th.

At the same time, I demonstrate excellent indicators - like an astronaut. I have perfect saturation , good pressure and temperature. Doctors see that I am an absolutely healthy person, but hold it.

They also stopped transmitting to me transfers from friends, loved ones and acquaintances. Previously, they came, although some documents disappeared from there, and then stopped. Otherwise, the conditions here are quite tolerable. True, you have to constantly go to the male shower, because in the female it hits the current and cannot fix it.

All that is happening to me now is a discredit campaign. I am the only independent politician in the region. And I do not give up my beliefs, I quite steadfastly endure the blows of the authorities. Therefore, I think that all this happens by decree of the presidential administration to destroy me as a regional policy. Because otherwise you could simply not accept my documents or recognize me as an extremist. But I am a sacred victim. I demonstrate by my example to society how the authorities are fighting independent politicians. This is necessary for people to have apathy, disappointment, a sense of hopelessness. So that people do not participate in the elections and think that everything is pointless.

And I want to show with my example that I’m not afraid of all this - and so that people are not afraid of either. But we throw complaints all the authorities to make a test. And in any case I will submit documents. I will fight to the end and continue the hunger strike until the transfer of documents in the election room.
