Ivan Safronov has been in custody for more than 12 months - he was arrested on July 7, 2020, when he left the house to work. Ivan Safronov does not admit his guilt: he abandoned any transactions with the investigation, including the investigator’s proposal about the only possible conversation with his mother in exchange for “cooperation”.

On Tuesday, July 27, the first appeal court refused to free the journalist from custody, leaving the decision of the Moscow City Court. Safronov will be in the Lefortovo pre -trial detention center until October 7th.

At first, according to the responsible secretary of the public observation commission Alexei Melnikov, Safronov in the isolator read a lot - 700 pages per day.
