In the United States, a report on the laboratory origin of Covid-19 was presented. What follows from it?

Representatives of the Republican Party of the United States have published a report that states that the Coronavirus SARS-Covid-19 could escape from a leak from the Chinese laboratory to Ujan. The publication of the report was prepared by the Republican Michael McColus Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives; Excerpts from it are given by The Hill. It is worth noting that the version of its authors is built on indirect evidence, as well as information from open sources.

From the report, the report of which McColus published, it follows that the virus, most likely, did not appear in the Utani seafood market - this is the official version of the Chinese authorities - but at the Uthan Institute of Virology, which, however, had been under suspicion as a true source of the origin of the coronavirus (for example, the head of the World Health Organization, Theodor Gebreisus, said that it was not said that he was not excludes the version of the development of the virus in the Chinese laboratory).

In the investigation of the Republicans, it is also mentioned that the laboratory in Ujan conducted dangerous studies on Gain-OF-FUNCTION (strengthening the function), within which scientists genetically modified certain viruses in order to make them more contagious and, later, to develop preventive and epidemiological measures in case the outbreak of such a virus is in nature.

In addition, the Republicans indicate the fact that the studies of viruses were conducted in unsafe conditions - a few months before the first cases began to appear, repairs were carried out in the laboratory. It is also claimed that in the summer of 2019 the Institute posted an announcement of the search for specialists to update air disinfection systems and processing hazardous waste, which can also be indirect evidence of leakage.

Among other things, the report offers an alternative version of the date of start of the spread of the virus. According to the Republicans, the first Covid-19 sick could appear in September or even in August 2019, and not in mid-November, as they say in other sources (for example, the publication of The Wall Street Journal insists on this).

However, the report does not contain direct and final accusations. However, this did not prevent McColo from calling for sanctions against representatives of the Communist Party of China and scientists of the Uthan Institute of virology. In his opinion, they should be punished that they prevented a quick and effective reaction to the appearance of the virus due to the concealment of the true cause of its origin-and thereby, obviously, contributed to the emergence of pandemia.

According to The Hill, the Republicans conduct their investigation in parallel with the investigation, which was initiated by the administration of the US President, Democrat Joe Biden. Recall that in May 2021, the head of the United States instructed the intelligence authorities within three months to deal with the true origin of the coronavirus, while the version of the leak was also not excluded. In addition, recently the head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Theodor Gebreisus, offered China to the plan of the second phase of the investigation of the origin of the coronavirus, according to which it was necessary to check the Utan markets, as well as the laboratories of this city. China refused this plan.
