Police drop cases of detainees before failed rally against forced vaccination

The police department in the Tverskoy district of Moscow stopped administrative proceedings in the cases of six people detained before the failed rally against forced vaccination. This was reported by OVD-Info lawyer Sergei Telnov, who visited the police department together with activists.

On July 4, opponents of forced vaccination came to Pushkin Square to sign a collective letter. As a result, six people were detained and taken to the Tverskoy police station. There they drew up reports on violation of anti-Covid restrictions (Article 3.18.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Moscow) and were ordered to appear at the police department in a month to draw up protocols on participation in an uncoordinated action (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Cases under the “rally” article were discontinued due to the lack of corpus delicti. Telnov suggests that the cases under the anti-Covid article have also been discontinued, since the lawyer visited the Association of Administrative and Technical Inspections and materials on the detainees have not yet been received there.

• The first rally against mandatory vaccination took place on June 26 in Novopushkinsky Square. They wanted to hold the event in the format of a meeting with State Duma deputy Valery Rashkin. The protest was interrupted by the police and at least eight people were detained . On June 29, at a similar protest, an anti-vaxxer was detained after he got into a discussion with people who convinced him of the benefits of the vaccine.
