The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow sentenced Alexander Federyakov, a participant in the protest rally in support of Alexei Navalny on January 23, to one and a half years in a general regime colony under the article on the use of violence against law enforcement officers (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by OVD-Info lawyer Nikolai Fomin, who represented the interests of the convicted person.
The prosecutor's office asked that the accused be sentenced to four years in a general regime colony. According to investigators, Federyakov sprayed a gas canister towards a riot police officer during the action on January 23. The man did not admit guilt.
Alexander Federyakov was detained in Moscow on March 31. The next day, the Presnensky District Court sent him to a pre-trial detention center.
