A criminal case for hooliganism was opened against a Muscovite who staged a protest on a tree with a crossbow.
A criminal case on hooliganism was opened against Moscow resident Olga Kuzmina (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by OVD-Info with reference to Kuzmina's lawyer Katerina Tertukhina.
The reason for the case was the action that Kuzmina staged in Moscow on August 9th. She climbed a tree in Babushkinsky Park and sat there for about 10 hours, holding a crossbow in her hands. Thus, she protested against the construction of a house in Yantarny Proyezd as part of a renovation program.
On August 10, Kuzmina was arrested for six days under an administrative article on disobedience to the lawful demand of a police officer. On the same day, her house was searched. Kuzmina's mother said that law enforcement officers seized all the equipment and electronic media.
The case was initiated by the investigative department of the Losinoostrovsky police department. Earlier, the security forces reported that they were conducting a check against Kuzmina under the article on hooliganism. According to investigators, she did not act alone and "entered into a criminal conspiracy with unidentified persons." The prosecution noted that the Muscovite's crossbow is not a melee weapon and can be used for sports and recreation.
