
In Murino, local residents stopped work on the construction of Food Mall. The developer dismantled the tiles on Mendeleev Boulevard, but the people of the vegetable construction site with a fence, pushed the construction trailer and put the tile in place. Videos and photos from the scene are published in the community "Infrastructure of the Western Murino" on the social network VKontakte. The footage shows that the police do not interfere in what is happening.
The site on which the Food Mall wants to build is owned by Rent Invest. In December 2020, the company announced the construction of restaurant mall, which was supposed to accommodate about 50 restaurants. Local residents do not like this idea.
The head of the local administration, Alexei Belov, said that the authorities are also against restaurants. According to him, in early August, he signed an order to recall the construction permit. The Director General of Rent Invest Artem Gudchenko, in an interview with a 47news correspondent, said that the company is not going to refuse the project, the construction permit, according to him, is valid until the end of 2021. Gudchenko emphasized that "the only thing that can stop us" is a judicial ban.

The company "Rent Invest" was already trying to start construction in January of this year, but the locals then opposed. In December 2020, the Leningrad Region administration announced that they limited the possibilities of the developer: they transferred the plot to the recreational zone, which was forbidden to build on it. The Council of Deputies of the city settlement instructed the head of the municipal administration to check the construction documentation, and until its end he forbade the company to build.
However, as the publication writes, the company appealed the decision in court and won the case. The assignment of deputies was recognized as illegal.
