The prosecutor's office asked the former head of Navalny's Moscow headquarters for two years of restriction of freedom on a "sanitary matter"

The prosecutor's office, during the debate in the Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow, demanded that the former coordinator of Navalny's Moscow headquarters, Oleg Stepanov, be sentenced to two years of restriction of freedom on a “sanitary matter,” the politician reported on Twitter.

In particular , the prosecution asks to prohibit the oppositionist from leaving Moscow, leaving home at night, participating in mass rallies, and obliging him to report to the Federal Penitentiary Service three times a month. Stepanov's sentence will be announced on August 20 at 14:00.

He is accused of inciting violations of sanitary and epidemiological rules at the rally on January 23 (part 4 of article 33, part 1 of article 236 of the Criminal Code). Four of Navalny's associates - Nikolai Lyaskin , Oleg Navalny, Kira Yarmysh and Lyubov Sobol - have already been sentenced in this case. All of them, except brother Navalny, were given restrictions on their freedom. Oleg Navalny received a year's probation.

In June, the Moscow City Court also recognized them as extremist organizations. The capital's prosecutor's office claimed that the opposition wanted to “change the foundations of the constitutional system” using a “color revolution scenario.”
