The Vyborg District Court of St. Petersburg sentenced Hamid Ruzmetov, who unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate a friend with a drug overdose, to a year of correctional labor with the deduction of 5% of monthly earnings as state income. This was reported by the joint press service of the city courts.
Ruzmetov was found guilty of causing death by negligence (Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code). He confessed, repented and apologized to the relatives of the deceased.
According to investigators, Ruzmetov incorrectly performed chest compressions on an unconscious friend, and the man died from a “closed chest injury with multiple fractures of the ribs and sternum.” This happened on the night of April 24 in an apartment on Kostroma Avenue.
