On August 12, unknown people tried to break into the phone of Irina Pankratova, a journalist for The Bell. Before ordering details of Pankratova's calls and messages using forged documents from the operator's office, the attackers also organized a spam attack on the journalist's number. “Alesya and I do not have any joint text with risks in the near future. But the attack started at the same time this morning. Let's see if it all goes on, like Ira [Pankratova]," Irina Dolinina told Novaya Gazeta.

In MegaFon, the journalists were told that they could not help. They could not answer the question whether someone tried to order the details of their calls in the office.
