The administration of the Oktyabrsky district of Rostov-on-Don did not agree on a picket dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the August coup. This is reported by the publication "Kavkaz.Realii".

As one of the organizers of the action, Valentina Tolmacheva, said, the participants planned to come out with posters and photographs dedicated to the events of August 1991. Officials considered the event "controversial".

“These events allow different points of view among citizens, since they are in the nature of a coup d'état and the seizure of the current government at that moment, they are associated with negative consequences, including the cessation of the existence of the USSR. Holding the event will provoke a conflict situation, thereby causing destabilization of the political and social situation in society,” the authorities said in an official response.
