Roskomnadzor demanded that Apple remove Alexei Navalny’s app from the App Store. Navalny’s team spoke about this.
In a letter addressed to the corporation, officials report that the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) and Navalny's headquarters are recognized as extremist organizations and their activities are prohibited in Russia.
“Currently, the Navalny application is being distributed through the App Store service, which is used to promote the activities and implementation of events of the above-mentioned extremist organizations,” the demand says.
- On July 30, Roskomnadzordemanded that YouTube block the channel of politician Lyubov Sobol and Navalny LIVE. On July 28, the department turned to Twitter with a similar demand to block Sobol’s account. On July 26, the department, by decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office, blocked Alexei Navalny’s website navalny.com and other resources of Navalny’s team. In addition, officials demanded that YouTube block the channels of three of Navalny’s associates - Georgy Alburov, Leonid Volkov and Vladimir Milov. The Prosecutor General’s Office also wants to block the YouTube account of the former head of Navalny’s Novosibirsk headquarters, Sergei Boyko.
- On June 9, 2021, the Moscow City Court recognized the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), the Foundation for the Protection of Citizens' Rights (FZPG) and the headquarters of Alexei Navalny as extremist organizations.
