Politician Andrei Pivovarov, registered by a candidate for State Duma deputies from the Yabloko party, appealed to the first deputy head of the Russian Presidential Administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, with a request to give him the opportunity to conduct a pre -election campaign under arrest. Pivovarov is in jail on charges of participating in the activities of an unwanted organization.
He emphasized that Kiriyenko does not ask to close the criminal case, although he himself does not consider himself guilty, but asks only to vouch for him during the elections, which could become a reason for the court to change the measure of restraint. The oppositionist promised that he would not escape from the country, and also assured that after the end of the election campaign was ready to return to the pre -trial detention center. "Your guarantee, I am sure, will become a convincing argument for the court to choose a non -departure or a pledge to me," the politician believes.
Pivovarov recalled that in 1999 he joined the Union of Right Forces, and one of the party leaders Sergei Kiriyenko was a "like -minded person, a colleague of Nemtsov and Gaidar." “I liked it when you said that the Russians should live in Europe without leaving Russia. After 20 years, you are holding a high Kremlin post, and I, in bars for opposition activities,” said Pivovarov, noting that I would not write Kiriyenko if I had not met him in parting with Boris Nemtsov in 2015 in the Sakharov Center.
