In the Smolensk region on August 20, search teams found alive one and a half years old Lyudmila Kuzina, who had disappeared more than three days before.
As they say in the message of the regional Investigative Committee, Lyudmila Kuzina, born in 2019, on the morning of August 17, left the house located on the territory of the Shelukov tract of the Temkinsky district - and did not return. On the fact of her disappearance, a criminal case was initiated under the article on the murder of a minor (paragraph "c" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), which provides for punishment up to life imprisonment.
Parents said that the missing girl was playing in the courtyard of a private house with her older sister. Mom at that moment went to a neighbor, the eldest daughter ran after her first, and then Luda. She got lost along the way. Neighbors call Kuzins "positive parents" and "open friendly people" , adding that they "do not drink, live in abundance." The father of the family is a nuclear physicist from Obninsk.

The search continued for almost four days. The message that Lyuda Kuzina was found and alive appeared in the Salvara community on Vkontakte on August 20 at 15:52 Moscow time. During a halt, one of the search parties heard the girl's voice about four kilometers from the Kuzins' house.
“The whole staff sobbed. Everyone was crying - both volunteers hardened by life and experience, and those who responded with indifference and came for the first time, local residents cried. Lyuda was found in a windfall, where she wandered after several days of wandering through the forest. The girl weakened, was bitten by insects, but most importantly, she was alive! “Lyudochka!” – and Lyuda immediately stretched out her thin arms to cling tightly to her saviors… It’s finally over, it’s all over, ”the squad’s message says.
Rescuers carried the girl out of the forest, after which the ambulance took her to the hospital. Children's Ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova told TASS that Kuzina is conscious. “In the near future, a helicopter flight is planned from Moscow to the Smolensk region in case the child needs to be transported to the capital’s clinic,” Kuznetsova added.
Later it became known that the girl is in a state of moderate severity . On August 21, she was transferred from intensive care to the general ward. The press service of the administration of the Smolensk region said that the girl will stay in the hospital at least until Monday. Despite the successful outcome of the search, the UK continues to investigate the case of the murder of a minor.
