On August 17, the Armavir City Court of the Krasnodar Territory fined Sergei Solomakhin 2,500 rubles for “purchasing Smart Voting” leaflets for the purposes of marketing or propaganda. The decision of the court, which found the Krasnodar citizen guilty under the article on the manufacture or sale of materials with extremist symbols (part 2 of article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), drew attention to the analytical center "Sova".
According to the court, on August 11 at 17:25 Solomakhin “allowed the purchase for marketing purposes” of leaflets containing information about “Smart Voting”, which is an “FBK* project”. In court, the man pleaded guilty, "repented of his deed," the report says.
The examination considered that the leaflets of "Smart Voting" have "all signs of extremist printed products", and the FBK calls for "violation of the electoral legislation." The leaflets themselves - 1000 pieces - were confiscated by the court and ordered to be destroyed.
On June 9, the Moscow City Court recognized the FBK and other organizations of Navalny as extremist and banned their activities in Russia. FBK defenders, representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs were in court for twelve and a half hours. The meeting was held behind closed doors. The court ruled that the decision to terminate the activities of organizations is subject to immediate execution.
