The Moscow City Court upheld the fine for a picketer who demanded that the “New Greatness” case be stopped

The Moscow City Court upheld a fine of 10 thousand rubles for Anna Narinskaya, imposed due to participation in a series of pickets near the FSB building on Lubyanka. This was reported by OVD-Info lawyer Sergei Telnov.

A series of pickets took place on July 16, 2020, two days after the state prosecution requested punishment for those involved in the “New Greatness” case. Narinskaya stood with a poster “The Case of New Greatness.” Three real terms per chat.”

On November 27, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow found Narinskaya guilty of violating the rules of holding the rally (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).

• In mid-March 2018, members of the previously unknown “New Greatness” movement were detained and then arrested in Moscow. They were charged with organizing and participating in the activities of an extremist community (Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code). Lawyers for the accused pointed out that the movement appeared with the active participation of embedded intelligence officers. On August 6, 2020, the court found some of the defendants guilty under the article on organizing the activities of an extremist community (Part 1 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code), three were given actual sentences of 6 to 7 years in prison. On January 12, the Moscow City Court slightly reduced the sentences of several defendants. Another defendant in the case was sentenced to 6 years in prison in a separate trial.
