In Ufa, Navalny's ally Albert Gaskarov was interrogated as a witness in the case of participation in an extremist community
In Ufa, the police detained and brought for interrogation an associate of Navalny and a deputy of the Russian-Yurmash village council in the Ufimsky district, Albert Gaskarov. This is reported by "OVD-Info" with reference to his wife.
The deputy was interrogated in the building of the Department for Combating Organized Crime as a witness in the case of participation in an extremist community (part 2 of article 282.1 of the Criminal Code). The interrogation was attended by two employees of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee, who flew in from Moscow on purpose, OVD-Info notes.
Human rights activists also report that Gaskarov's wife was called for interrogation "in order to put psychological pressure on the detainee." Gaskarov was interrogated for almost 12 hours, and then released, taking a non-disclosure agreement.
On June 9, the Moscow City Court recognized the FBK* and other Navalny organizations as extremist and banned their activities in Russia. FBK defenders, representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs were in court for twelve and a half hours. The meeting was held behind closed doors. The court ruled that the decision to terminate the activities of organizations is subject to immediate execution.
