The prosecutor's office canceled the decision to terminate the case against the former head of the Kurgan headquarters of Navalny

The Kurgan prosecutor's office canceled the decision to terminate the criminal case opened against the former coordinator of Navalny's local headquarters, Alexey Schwartz, under the article on evasion of military service (Part 1 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code). Znak reports this with reference to an activist.

A criminal case for draft evasion was opened against Schwartz in the fall of 2020, but in January 2021 they decided to drop it. The prosecutor's office appealed this decision, allegedly due to procedural violations.

In August, the ex-head of Navalny’s Kurgan headquarters was put on the wanted list because he twice failed to appear at court hearings in another criminal case - violating the secrecy of correspondence (Article 138 of the Criminal Code).

• In connection with protests in support of Alexey Navalny on January 23, Alexey Schwartz was sentenced to a total of 60 days of administrative arrest. A month later - another 42 days in a special detention center, like the last time, accusing him of repeated violation of the rules of holding an action (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code), as well as disobedience to the police (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code).
• On June 9, 2021, the Moscow City Court recognized the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), the Foundation for the Protection of Citizens' Rights (FZPG) and the headquarters of Alexei Navalny as extremist organizations. The Court of Appeal upheld this decision.
