The “Need Help” charity foundation has begun raising funds for the NGO “Old Age in Joy” project “Happiness living at home.” It helps improve the quality of life of older people.
The “Old Age in Joy” foundation has a program “Daily Care” , which operates throughout Russia. Nannies and medical and social teams come to pensioners who want to live at home, but cannot do without outside support. The teams provide medical care, and nannies help older people overcome everyday difficulties: buy groceries, cook food, clean the apartment.
Each team has no more than two or three wards, so that there is an opportunity to better understand the needs and condition of each person.
In Lokna, Pskov region, there are no other ways to get help at home. A government social worker comes twice a week for an hour and a half. This is not enough, and older people are forced to choose between living at home in poor conditions and moving to a boarding school.
The new project “Happiness living at home” is aimed at creating a nursing service in Lokna. The “Need Help” fund is collecting 3.5 million rubles - these funds will be used to pay wages and train caregivers.
