At the age of 72, a member of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) under the President of the Russian Federation Maria Bolshakova died. This was reported by the press service of the HRC.

In 1993, Bolshakova was created and headed by the Committee of the families of military personnel of the Moscow Region, on the basis of which the public charitable organization “Union of Family of Russian Military Personnel” was later organized.
In 2006-2010, Bolshakova was part of the Public Chamber of Russia. She became a member of the HRC in 2011.
In March 2014, Bolshakova, together with a number of other members of the HRC, left a meeting of the Council due to disagreements regarding the introduction of Russian troops into the Crimea.
