On August 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a single payment of 10 thousand rubles to all pensioners this year. He also proposed a one -time payment to all military personnel "based on the results of this year." According to him, it will amount to about 15 thousand rubles.

In the same week, August 24, Putin announced the payment of 15 thousand rubles to cadets of military schools and police officers. The president went to such measures less than a month before the State Duma elections, which will be held from September 17 to 19.

500 billion rubles will be spent on payments to military and pensioners, and Andrei Makarov said the head of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Tax.
