On August 26, the Pushkinsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested police officer Viktor Shcherbyna in connection with the sale of almost 500 grams of marijuana. This was reported by the city press service of the courts.
Shcherbyna is accused of selling drugs on a large scale (clause “d” of part 4 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, in July-August he sold drugs several times in Pushkin and St. Petersburg, with the help of his acquaintance. In total, investigators say, Shcherbyna sold 492.9 grams of marijuana and received about 85 thousand rubles.
The policeman was detained on August 24. 47news wrote that an acquaintance gave evidence against the security officer, “who, according to investigators, was no longer ready to help him in this dangerous matter.” Shcherbyna partially admitted his guilt. The defense asked to place the policeman under house arrest, since he has no previous convictions and has a small child.
