The Office of the Investigative Committee for the Eastern District of Moscow opened a case to unite a group of supporters of “Prisoner Criminal Unity” in pre-trial detention center No. 1 “Matrosskaya Tishina”. This was reported by the press services of the capital's department of the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor's office .
Searches were carried out in two unnamed Moscow pre-trial detention centers as part of the case.
According to investigators, the association of “A.U.E” supporters in the detention center was created by “persons with criminal authority” in June 2020 - two months before the court decision to recognize “A.U.E” as an extremist organization.
They, as noted by the prosecutor’s office, “obstructed the [pre-trial detention center] employees in performing their official duties,” “refused to comply with the legal requirements of the administration,” “violated the established procedure for detention,” “organized the delivery of prohibited items,” and “raised funds to support activities "
The case was opened under articles on organizing the work of an extremist organization and financing its work (part 1 of article 282.26, part 1 of article 282.3 of the Criminal Code). In addition to the Investigative Committee, the Federal Penitentiary Service and the Prosecutor's Office, employees of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs also participated in the investigation.
