The Investigative Committee softened the charge against 25-year-old Yaroslavl policeman Igor Samsonov, who shot 43-year-old Kaspiysk resident Agai Magomedov. This was reported by the Yarnovosti publication with reference to lawyer Alexander Tolyanin. The Interior Ministry employee was released on his own recognizance.
On January 2, Samsonov responded to a call about an attack and saw Magomedov beating a woman, reported the Dagestan department of the Investigative Committee . The policeman demanded to stop doing this, in response, the local resident “behaved aggressively and headed” in his direction.
According to investigators, Samsonov misjudged the situation and shot Magomedov. The policeman was charged with murder (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code) and abuse of power (points “b”, “c” of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code). “Yarnovosti”, citing a source , wrote that a local resident tried to take a weapon from a policeman, and he accidentally shot him. According to the publication, Samsonov was on a business trip in Dagestan.
Now Samsonov is charged only with Article 109 of the Criminal Code (causing death by negligence); he was released on his own recognizance. "Yarnovosti" reports that he has already returned to Yaroslavl.
