Moscow municipal deputy Baranovsky was sentenced to 1.5 years of restriction of freedom on a “sanitary matter”

The Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow imposed 1.5 years of restriction of freedom on municipal deputy Dmitry Baranovsky, reports the press service of the capital's courts . He was found guilty of inciting violations of sanitary and epidemiological standards (part 4 of article 33, part 1 of article 236 of the Criminal Code) during the rally on January 23.

According to the court decision, the oppositionist must stay at home at night, not change his place of residence without warning, not attend mass events, not leave Moscow and the Moscow region without permission, and report to the inspectorate twice a month.

The court has already sentenced oppositionists Lyubov Sobol , Kira Yarmysh , Oleg Stepanov , Nikolai Lyaskin , Oleg Navalny and Lyusa Stein . Five received restrictions of freedom; Navalny’s brother was given a suspended sentence. Charges against MP Konstantin Jankauskas were dropped . member Pussy Riot Maria Alyokhina and head Anastasia Vasilyeva have not yet been sentenced.

Activist Akel Dani Tamamma was fined 100 thousand rubles. He was charged with violating sanitary standards (Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code), and not with instigating their violation, like the other defendants. According to investigators, the oppositionist violated quarantine and came to the protest while infected with the coronavirus.
