In Chelyabinsk, those involved in the case of the banner “FSB is the main terrorist” were asked to serve six years in prison

At a meeting of the Central District Court of Chelyabinsk, the prosecutor demanded that six years in a general regime colony be imposed on the spouses Dmitry Tsibukovsky and Anastasia Safonova, who are accused in the case of hanging the banner “FSB is the main terrorist.” The head of the international human rights group “Agora” Pavel Chikov reported this in his Telegram channel.

Tsibukovsky and Safonova are charged with articles of vandalism and hooliganism motivated by political enmity (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code and Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code). In April 2020, they were detained and sent to a pre-trial detention center. At the end of July, the preventive measure was changed to house arrest, and in November - to a ban on certain actions.

A criminal case was opened shortly after a banner reading “FSB is the main terrorist” appeared on the fence near the Chelyabinsk FSB Office on the night of February 14–15, 2018. The rally was held in support of those involved in the Network case . A few days after this, local anarchists, including Tsibukovsky and Safonova, were detained.

The young man said that he confessed under torture. The case against the spouses was dropped twice “due to the lack of evidence of a crime.” In April 2020, the case was resumed; riot police officers burst into Tsibukovsky and Safonova’s Tula apartment and detained them.
