Metrostroy was declared bankrupt

Metrostroy, the general contractor for the construction of St. Petersburg metro stations, was declared bankrupt by decision of the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. This was written by TASS with reference to materials from the court of the court.

The organization introduced a bankruptcy proceedings and appointed a temporary manager. As explained in Metrostroy, this is necessary in order to transfer the work of another organization - the Metrostroy of the Northern Capital. It was created by VTB Development, the structure of VTB.

TASS Metrostroy reported that the procedure “fully complies” with the plans of the city, company and practical partner VTB. “Exactly what the vice-governor Maxim Sokolov is talking about-a seamless transition,” the press service said. The company added that the bankruptcy procedure opens the possibility of renegoting state contracts from the metrostroy northern capital JSC, the transfer of production sites and the transfer of employees to the staff of the new organization. The transition procedure is hoped to complete until October 12.

The agency was reported in the Metroe of the Northern capital that the company would begin work at incomplete facilities after concluding contracts with a state customer. Now the company is purchasing materials and equipment. The company has already received the main licenses for the work, TASS reports.

Metrostroy has existed since 1941 and built all metro stations in St. Petersburg, and also carried out installation work at large infrastructure facilities in St. Petersburg. In February 2020, the court introduced the observation procedure against the company.

65 % of the shares of the Metrostroy of the Northern Capital belong to the city. It is assumed that the new company will become the only general contractor during the construction of the St. Petersburg metro.

Earlier, the authorities of St. Petersburg promised to pay 10,000 rubles to teachers, make public toilets round -the -clock and accelerate the construction of the metro.
