On August 31, a jury at a meeting in the Sverdlovsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk found businessman Anatoly Bykov guilty of double murder, according to the local prosecutor's office.
According to Taygi.info, four out of six jurors considered Bykov's guilt proven. They also considered him undeserving of leniency.
The businessman is charged under articles on incitement to commit murder for hire (part 4 of article 33 of the Criminal Code, paragraph “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code) and attempted murder of two persons for hire (part 4 of article 33 of the Criminal Code , part 3 article 30, paragraphs "a", "h" part 2 article 105 of the Criminal Code). Bykov denies any involvement in the crimes. Supporters of the businessman linked his persecution with possible participation in the elections.
According to investigators, due to personal hostility, Bykov planned the murder of two Krasnoyarsk businessmen. One of them was killed, the other survived.
At the next meeting, on September 2, the debate of the parties will begin.
