Petersburg: The girl wounded the policeman who saved her

In St. Petersburg, the policeman received a knife wound, saving a 13-year-old girl from a fall from the window, Interfax said with reference to the regional head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On the evening of August 31, employees of the guardianship authorities turned to the police for help to deliver a 13-year-old girl to an institution for children who lost their parents. She did not want to leave the apartment on the street of composers. Her mother had previously died, and she remained an orphan.

When the police and representatives of the guardianship authority entered the apartment located on the third floor, the girl opened the window in the kitchen and tried to jump out to escape. The 33-year-old police officer rushed to the window, managed to catch her legs and returned to the room.

“At that moment, the girl grabbed a kitchen knife from the table and, according to preliminary information, accidentally inflicted a cut wound of her neck,” the police explained.

Now representatives of the guardianship and inspector for minors are working with the teenager. The wounded policeman was provided with medical care.
