The festival dedicated to the writer takes place in St. Petersburg for the fifth time. In the program “Day D” more than 40 events - lectures, excursions, quiz, performances. “We made the anniversary of the 75th year, the 67th year, the 89th year ... This year we are only talking about the period when Dovlatov lived in Leningrad (1944–1978),” said Anastasia Knyseva, project manager, the head of the project. - “Days D” this year will be held in Barcelona, ​​in Tallinn, in Moscow, Syktyvkar, Ufa ... ”

Five years ago, at the house on Rubinstein, 23, they erected a monument to Dovlatov. This year, in the square on Zagorodnoy Prospekt, 15-17, a sculpture of his beloved Foxerier Glasha will appear.

“This is a logical continuation of the story with a monument to the writer, moreover, this idea arose in many people at the same time: Leo Lurie, the sculptor Vyacheslav Bukhaev, and many others,” says Princess.

According to Anastasia, Dovlatov became partly a folklore figure: “As Lev Lurie says, this is such a“ Christmas grandfather ”, they love him because it does not have pathos, moralizing. He is one of us. Dovlatov shows the charm and imperfection of the world, and such an attitude to life, served with magnificent humor, responds in the minds of people. Therefore, every time we make a festival, many write to us and offer help, because the festival has a completely folk spirit. ”

The festival began even before the anniversary, August 29, with the presentation of Lev Lurie’s book “City over the free Neva” in “Signature Publications”, and on August 31 at the Youth Theater on Fontanka the play “Abanamat!” - By prose of Dovlatov.
