On September 3 and 4, security forces in Crimea searched the homes of five Crimean Tatar activists and detained them. Where they are now is unknown. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Crimean Solidarity movement.
On the morning of September 3, people with FSB chevrons searched Eldar Odamanov's house in Simferopol. Phones, computers and flash drives were confiscated from him, then they were detained. The search was carried out by a court order because of the "explosion of the gas pipeline" in the village of Perevalnoye.
On the night of September 3-4, searches were carried out at the home of 32-year-old Asan Akhtemov, as well as in the village of Pervomaisky — at 26-year-old Aziz Akhtemov and Nariman Dzhelal, the former deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, and in Evpatoria — at 42-year-old Shevket Useinov. They were all detained.
Lawyers for the detainees are trying to find out the whereabouts of the defendants in various law enforcement agencies, but to no avail. Relatives of the detainees gathered at the reception of the FSB in Simferopol, the employees of the authorities told them that they did not know where their relatives were, and threatened them with liability under the article on organizing a mass stay of citizens (part 1 of article 20.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
Lawyers Lilya Gemedzhi, Emine Avamileva, Safiye Shabanova, Emil Kurbedinov and Ayder Azamatov are participating in the search. They and the relatives of the detainees filed applications for the kidnapping of five people.
5 September 13:30 Five detained Crimean Tatars are in the FSB department for Crimea. This is reported by "Grati".
Lawyers were not allowed to see the detainees. What investigative actions are carried out with them, and in what procedural status they are, is not known.
The FSB investigator stated that Aziz Akhtemov refused the services of an independent lawyer, Safiye Shabanova, without providing any evidence of this.
16:27 Eldar Odamanov, who was detained after the search, is in the Simferopol temporary detention center. According to lawyer Lily Gemedzhi, he is charged with an article on failure to comply with the requirements of a representative of the authorities (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Nariman Dzhelal is a suspect in the case of complicity in sabotage (part 1 of article 281 of the Criminal Code with the application of part 5 of article 33 of the Criminal Code), on September 6, the court will choose a preventive measure for him.

He didn’t know where he was, but he understood that he was somewhere in the basement,” said Dzhelal’s lawyer Emine Avamileva after meeting with her client.
