
The Great Drama Theater spoke about the resumption of the work of the historical building on Fontanka. The theater will open after the repair in November this year, the paper was told in the cultural institution.
“The builders this time got good. <...> I see zeal, some kind of honesty. <...> Everything is going according to plan, ”said the artistic director of the BDT Andrei Molchy at a meeting with the troupe in honor of the beginning of the new season.

According to the representative of the technical supervision of the Ministry of Culture Sergei Podolsky, the repair worth about a billion rubles is carried out in the basement of the theater, about 80 people are engaged in it. Waterproofing is already 95 %. Now the workers are engaged in reverse installation and partial finish. In parallel with this, the roof of the building is repaired, they want to finish it by 2023.
Despite the fact that the completion of work is scheduled for December, the performances will begin to show in November, the director of the theater said. However, there are no posters yet.
The customer of the repair is the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Contractor is the company "Renaissance Restation".
The historical building of the theater was closed in April 2021. During this time, the basements and a roof were repaired there, in the reconstruction of which 2014, mistakes were made. Before the end of the work, the BDT troupe plays performances on its second stage - in the Kamennoostrovsky Theater, at the venues of other theaters and in Moscow .
Update of October 11. The first performance will take place on the historical scene of the BDT on November 11, according to the theater Instagram. It will be "three fat people. Episode 7. Teacher ”directed by Andrei Mogeliy.
