In the mid-1960s, even the Lords of the Admiralty wore “Beatle” wigs, and Soviet schoolchildren taught English in the texts of “Beatles”: an excerpt from the book of Craig Brown “One, Two, Three, Four: The Beatles in the rhythm of time”

Another biography of The Beatles? Are you serious ?? It would seem that more than half a century has passed since the decay of the most famous pop group in the world, and the total circulation of books, photo albums and other printing products about the Beatles has since been measured by many millions-although it still does not reach the combined circulation of their own music: more than 250 million on different media ( 2017 data ) ...
However, one of the reviewers of the English edition of the book of Craig Brown “One, Two, Three, Four: The Beatles in the rhythm of time” (the Russian translation enters the recently to the ABC-Atticus )) notes that “to write on the Bitles cover is like writing“ hot pies ””: bright new books about the Liverpool four are almost inevitably become bestsellers, and “One, Two, Three, Four” is also no exception.
Immediately after the release in English in 2020, the book received a number of prestigious awards and many flattering reviews, the authors of which note "a very original approach of the author, who managed to say a lot about things studied along and wide," and even exclaim that "Brown has invented the biography genre."
(On the other hand, some bitnat experts reproach the author of too free handling of sacred material: for example, he constantly quotes dialogs in the form of direct speech, which actually did not have extraneous witnesses-that is, in front of us, possibly, not genuine words of John or Paul, but Kraig's speculation).
Craig Brown (born 1957) is an English critic and satirist, one of the main authors of the Private Eye political satire magazine, leading the popular program of the Is Craig Brown at the BBC Radio 4.
In the passage from the book, which we publish with the courteous resolution of the publishing house, it is told about the birth of the famous “Beatle haircut”-and how this almost random fashionable choice of four guys influenced the public atmosphere of the sixties-“era when the black and white world in the eyes became colorful.”
