In Moscow, journalists picketed against the recognition of media as "foreign agents." Three people were detained at the protest

In Moscow, arrests have begun during single-person pickets of journalists who oppose the recognition of Russian independent media as "foreign agents," the Sota publication reports.

The police detained three journalists from Important Stories : Alesya Marokhovskaya , Irina Dolinina and Polina Uzhvak.

The detained journalists will be taken to the Yakimanka police department, OVD-Info writes .

Updated . The journalists were issued reports for violating the rules for holding rallies (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and released from the police station. They face a fine of up to 20 thousand rubles or up to 40 hours of community service. The trial is scheduled for September 16.

On September 8, the International Day of Solidarity of Journalists, dozens of Russian media outlets joined the protest against the law on "foreign agents" under the slogan "There are no foreign agents, there are journalists." Meduza is also participating.
