The case of Jehovah's Witnesses from Maykop was brought to court

In Maykop, the case of Jehovah's Witness Inver Siyukhov was brought to court. The Investigative Committee for Adygea reported on this; The SOVA Information and Analytical Center drew attention to this.

The believer is accused of organizing the activities of an extremist organization (Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code).

According to investigators, 46-year-old Siyukhov has been the founder of the local organization of Jehovah's Witnesses since 2002. Since 2018, he allegedly “committed actions of an organizational nature to manage and continue the activities” of the Maikop cell of Jehovah’s Witnesses. These actions, the investigation indicates, were expressed in “ideological indoctrination of the residents of the Republic of Adygea in order to increase the number of followers of the specified religious extremist organization.”

• In 2017, the Supreme Court recognized the “Administrative Center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia” as an extremist organization, liquidated it and banned its activities in Russia. Later, all Jehovah's Witnesses organizations were added to the list of prohibited organizations. After this, a stream of criminal cases against representatives of the confession began.
