The price of gas in Europe exceeded $730

The exchange price of gas in Europe has set another record, exceeding $730 per 1,000 cubic meters. This is evidenced by the data of the London ICE.

By 9:30 Moscow time, the October gas futures on the index of the Dutch TTF (the most liquid hub in Europe) rose to $728 per thousand cubic meters, and after a small quote reached $730.1. By the time the auction opened, the price was $713 per thousand cubic meters.

• Gas prices in Europe have been growing since the beginning of the year, almost quadrupling, and on September 9, for the first time, they exceeded $700 per thousand cubic meters. The last impetus was given, among other things, by the refusal of Gazprom to book additional capacities for gas transit through Ukraine on the eve of the launch of Nord Stream 2. Underground gas reserves remain lower than last year after a cold winter.
