President Vladimir Putin decided to go into self-isolation, explaining this by cases of COVID -19 infection in his circle. This is stated on the Kremlin website.

Putin will comply “for a certain period of time” and will take part in planned events via video link, the statement said.

His press secretary Dmitry Peskov soon added that Putin had been tested for coronavirus and was “absolutely healthy.”

Before this morning, the Kremlin press service published photos from his meeting yesterday with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Yesterday he also said that “he himself will soon have to [go into quarantine]” because “a lot of people are sick.”
