Foundation The Moscow Department of the Ministry of Justice demanded that the Rus Sidyashchaya abandon the logo and issued a warning about “signs of desecration” of the Russian coat of arms. It is reported by "Kommersant".
The Ministry of Justice considered that a double-headed eagle with a warder's baton on one side and prison shackles on the other offends the state symbol. The warning, issued in March, refers to possible fines under the article on non-compliance with the order (Article 19.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and liquidation if the organization does not abandon the logo.
On September 13, the Gagarin Court of Moscow began to consider the claim of "Rus Sidyashchaya" against the Moscow Department of the Ministry of Justice. The foundation's lawyers believe that Russia does not have a monopoly on the image of the double-headed eagle. Human rights activists received a conclusion from Andrey Zorin, Doctor of Philology and Oxford University Professor, that the foundation's logo is not the state emblem.
