Picketer Artem Elshansky was detained on Manezhnaya Square in Moscow, his friend told OVD-Info.
Elshansky stood with a poster in support of independent candidates who were not allowed to participate in the elections due to the ban on those involved in extremist organizations from being elected. The man was taken to the Kitay-Gorod police department.
19:39 The detained picketer was released from the police without a report on the offense. His interests in the department were represented by lawyer from OVD-Info Sergei Telnov.
