Update September 16th. After the text was published, two Instagram accounts where Inna Ryazhkina posted photos of her daughter were deleted.
On August 29, a 29-year-old blogger from Moscow named Insa spoke on her Telegram channel about Inna Ryazhkina, a woman from Krasnoyarsk who sells photos of her 13-year-old daughter Anfisa online. Ryazhkina maintains account an Instagram , where she posts pictures of the girl. Anfisa is engaged in rhythmic gymnastics and trains at home - in many photographs she demonstrates stretching or sitting on the twine.
Inna Ryazhkina also created a website with her daughter's photo shoots. You can subscribe to it to get access to new publications, or you can buy individual photosets. Some of them cost 800 rubles, others - eight thousand. In June, when Anfisa and her mother were vacationing in the Maldives, Ryazhkina published a post with the heading “For Sponsors”: she wrote that she was very sorry that Anfisa was bitten by mosquitoes - she scratched the bites and they swelled up. Ryazhkina added that she independently corrected each photo so that these bites were not noticeable.
The preview shows that in many photos Anfisa poses in a swimsuit or short shorts, often in high heels. There are also photos in shoes that look like strips - shoes in which professional strippers perform.
On Instagram, Ryazhkina writes posts about her daughter's life. For example, she tells how rhythmic gymnastics helped her correct problems with her posture: “She became strong and hardy, slim and elastic. So far, it is flexible and pliable, although I never force it to stretch. All we need is fitness and endurance training. Now she looks like a small long panther” ( author’s spelling and punctuation preserved ).
According to blogger Insa, photographing a child in this form, and even more so selling these pictures, is “a disgusting thing and, unfortunately, very common.” This phenomenon is indeed not uncommon: there are many child models on Instagram, and often the poses and outfits in which they are photographed look ambiguous. For example, the TeensModelsArt account is dedicated to teen models, and many of them are seen sitting with their legs spread, in bikinis or fishnet stockings.
Even before Insa, other Internet users paid attention to Ryazhkina. For example, participants in the baginya.org forum, which discusses media people and Internet scammers, conducted their own “investigation” and found many sites where people posted photos of Anfisa and left comments of an erotic nature. In response, Inna Ryazhkina wrote a statement to the prosecutor's office that the forum participants were distributing pornography, and the site was blocked. Now his work has been restored, but it is impossible to enter the thread with a discussion of the Ryazhkin family without paid registration. Blogger Insa used many materials from the baginya.org forum for her material. “Initially, I took screenshots from there, and then I started looking for information myself on sites and forums for pedophiles,” she says.
After the publication of Insa, Inna Ryazhkina was noticed by the Investigative Committee: Alexander Bastrykin took control of the situation and instructed Krasnoyarsk investigators to report on it. Irina Miroshnikova, Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, also became interested in the Ryazhkin family. In an interview with local television, she said , “A parent has the right to post pictures of their child. There are situations when a child, for example, goes in for sports or some kind of art, and the parent is concerned about the promotion of the child on networks, on Instagram, in order to ensure a career in the modeling business, for example. But in this case, what we saw is unambiguous - the photographs are unambiguous, and I consider the interest in this situation to be quite justified. Naturally, we are working." In response to Kholod’s request, the Ombudsman wrote: “I inform you that I am working on the distribution of A. Ryazhkina’s photo in cooperation with the authorities of the prevention system, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Territory.” In the Krasnoyarsk IC, Kholod was confirmed that a criminal case was underway, initiated “on the fact of posting photographic materials with the participation of an underage resident of the city of Krasnoyarsk.”
In order to sell photographs on her own website, Inna Ryazhkina registered an IP, where she indicated “performing art” as her activity. “Because on my website I show Anfisina’s fans photo shoots, and also how she makes her videos, dances and creates animations,” Ryazhkina told Kholod. “I also make reports about how Anfisa travels.” According to Ryazhkina, she regularly pays taxes. In addition, the site states that all photos are copyrighted. As Ryazhkina herself explained to Kholod, she registered the rights to the pictures after a certain person from the United States "bought all the photo shoots and began selling them on various sites much cheaper." She says that "in America, Russian laws do not apply." So she hired a US lawyer who advised her to get a US copyright certificate. In her Telegram channel, she posted a photo of a certificate issued by the US Copyright Office. At the same time, according to Ryazhkina, the presence of such a document indicates that her photographs “carry enough artistic meaning to pass such a registration.”
"In determining the degree of sufficient originality, the US Copyright Office does not evaluate the aesthetic value, artistic merit, or quality of the work," say the guidelines . Bureau specialists also do not check works for obscenity, but they can report to the US Department of Justice if they see clear signs of child pornography. There is only one entry in the American public catalog of copyright holders that in July 2021, Inna Ryazhkina registered copyright for 750 photographs taken in 2020. There is no information on registration of rights to earlier or later pictures.
Ryazhkina claims that the photographs of her daughter, which she sells, are "beauty" and "art". However, many of them can be found on sites with pornographic content - apparently, they were uploaded there by people who bought the photosets. And on the site MyPornSnap.top there are the same pictures that Ryazhkina posted on Instagram - where Anfisa sits on a motorcycle and poses in a short dress and shoes that look like strips.
There is information about photos of Anfisa in the nude. Blogger Insa posted screenshots from the freshmodels.net forum dedicated to child models (today this site no longer exists). In the screenshot, one of the users shows pictures from a photoset in the bathroom - in them the girl is undressed and covered in soapy foam. There are messages from the forum administrator on the screenshots: he wrote that he bought many photosets with Anfisa and posted them on Freshmodels, but when there was a “leak” of photos from the bathroom, he reported Inna Ryazhkina to the American National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (Center for Work missing and exploited children). How exactly this “leak” happened, whether he bought the photos from Inna herself or from a third party, he did not specify.
Blogger Insa told Kholod that she was unable to contact people who bought photo shoots with Anfisa. But after the publication of the investigation, she was anonymously sent links to materials with a teenager, and she handed them over to the UK. According to her, among these materials is a video where a girl, naked to the waist, similar to Anfisa, turns over in bed.
In one of the screenshots provided by Insa, a forum user shows his correspondence with Anfisa's alleged mother: he asks her what pictures are contained in the $200 photoset, and she replies that there, "as always, there are naked photos." Ryazhkina herself denies that she conducted this correspondence. In the screenshot, a forum user is in dialogue with a Telegram user under the nickname Anfisa_Model, but this name does not match any of Inna's current Telegram nicknames, and there is no evidence that she really writes this.
Inna Ryazhkina herself, in a conversation with Kholod, does not deny that she photographed her daughter in a jacuzzi. But, according to her, she never sold these pictures and did not plan to post them in the public domain - it was "spontaneous photography."
“I take a lot of photos for myself, for my relatives,” says Inna Ryazhkina. - Anfisa never had a bath in her life, for a long time we only went to the shower. I built a house for several years, it was not easy. And so, they built a house and for the first time in their lives bought a jacuzzi with lighting - especially for Anfisa. My daughter was delighted, and we took pictures in this jacuzzi, I wanted to see how everything shimmers with different colors, it was our little holiday. At the same time, according to Inna, in these pictures Anfisa has swimming trunks. “I haven’t seen her naked for many years,” explains Ryazhkina. “It’s not customary for us, even when we go to the sauna, she puts on swimming trunks.”
In the material of Insa, as well as on some other forums, there are photographs in which Anfisa eats rolls, while her legs are widely apart. Where exactly this photo shoot came from and whether Ryazhkina sold it is also not specified anywhere.
According to Ryazhkina, this is not a photo shoot, but screenshots from a video. “We went to Germany to have Anfisa examined - she has a complex disease,” she says. In their free time, they decided to take a train to another city. Anfisa was eating, and I just recorded a video from the train to send to my relatives - to show that, here, everything is in order, we are going. There, on the video, you can see that my camera is shaking, I pour milk. I didn't take a close-up of her in that pose, it looks completely different on the recording. But then one person took screenshots, zoomed in on private parts, applied filters, and leaked it to the darknet.” In support of her words, Ryazhkina sent a video - it really shows that Anfisa is riding a train and eating rolls, and the shooting is not close-up.
When asked how the photos and videos from the family archive got to third parties, Ryazhkina replies that this was done by the person who gained access to them, taking advantage of her trust, but she cannot disclose details. Ryazhkina claims that she never photographed her daughter naked - all pornographic images that can be found on the Internet were mounted.
Regarding the photos of the girl on Instagram and on the official website, Ryazhkina says that she had never seen sexual overtones in them and did not expect that “some unhealthy people could perceive it like that.” She says that she began posting photos of her daughter on Instagram four years ago, after Anfisa won the Little Miss Siberia beauty contest. “Anfisa and I have always enjoyed being photographed,” she says. — We did big photo shoots, you can’t fit so many pictures in one post. Therefore, I decided to make a website so that I could post a lot of photos. I shoot everything for my website: how we dig potatoes, and how we go to the zoo, I always have a camera.”
Ryazhkina says that running such a website is a huge job. All photos need to be uploaded, edited, sorted into folders, come up with captions. “It's a full-time job,” she says. So it can't be free. After all, there are no ads on our site. Why should I do this for free? Moreover, you need to maintain the site, pay for maintenance, hosting, plugins. Ryazhkina also believes that if access to photographs is not limited by subscription, too many people will see them, and then she will “be slandered even more.” She claims that the high price “fences off pedophiles,” and at the same time assures that there is “nothing that could interest pedophiles” in Anfisa’s photographs: this “content does not suit them either in appearance or in value.” “Why would they want our photographs in clothes,” she says. - They also need nudity, and you can buy it elsewhere. Why would they pay me so much money? Ryazhkina calls people who buy photosets with her daughter just "sincere fans" who treat Anfisa "without dirty overtones."
Internet users who “investigated” Ryazhkina’s story claim that when she started selling photographs, her income increased markedly - she began to travel abroad with her daughter often, and the situation at her home in the pictures looks expensive. At the same time, according to Ryazhkina, all the money that she receives for photo shoots is the income of her daughter, and she does not spend it on her own needs. For her, according to her, "the pension is enough." How much money she receives, Ryazhkina does not say. “No matter what amount I name, they will still reproach me for this, accuse me of something,” she says. - I can only say that this income is unstable. So someone bought a photoset and sold it on the darknet several times cheaper, and they didn’t buy these pictures from us anymore - immediately the income dropped.”
According to Ryazhkina, she is surprised when people see sexual overtones in her daughter's photographs. “I don’t agree that she has explicit poses,” she says. - It’s just that the girl is very plastic, this is the phenomenon of this child. I really love showing off her flexibility in photos. But Anfisa was brought up very strictly, she does not have sexual promiscuity. We also tried to change clothes, but in a dress instead of a top with shorts, she looks graceful and attractive. Here I posted a picture - she is sitting sideways, in a pink hat, with sunblock on her face. We were on the beach, and she only went in swimming trunks, she still had nothing to cover. I didn’t even have thoughts that someone would perceive it sexually, this is some other world. When I realized that some see it in this way, I was scalded with boiling water, it was a tragedy for me, and I deleted this photo. However, this is not the only photo that caused an ambiguous reaction from Internet users, but Ryazhkina did not delete the rest of the photos.
Ryazhkina says that this is not the first time that law enforcement agencies are interested in her daughter’s photographs – in 2020, a criminal case was opened “on the fact that an unidentified person took photographs of a minor <...> for the purpose of producing and distributing pornographic materials.” “Two years ago, photos appeared on the darknet in which my daughter was allegedly naked,” she says. It was just photoshop. And some terrible discussions. I was in shock." Ryazhkina claims that during the investigation of the criminal case, Anfisa underwent both medical and psychological examinations, and experts found that the girl had never been sexually exploited. “The case was closed after eight months,” says Ryazhkina. - They found out that it was a photomontage and I did not do it. Computers and equipment were confiscated from the whole family, they checked for several months, but nothing was found. The trail led to foreign sites, and they told me that the Russian police could not do anything here and the case would be transferred to Interpol.” As confirmation of her words, Inna Ryazhkina sent a photograph of the decision to initiate a criminal case. She also showed a photograph of the decision to terminate the criminal case. It says that the photos were edited, there are no naked bodies of minors in the porn materials, and the forensic expert did not find signs of violence in Anfisa. Now, according to Ryazhkina, the decision to close the case has been canceled, and the police continue to search for the person who distributed the photomontage.
Ryazhkina adds that she "cannot measure" who and what feels when looking at children's photos, and cannot control whether they cause attraction in "some sick people." “There is a law, and I didn’t break it,” she says. - The child is dressed. And if she has some kind of excessive flexibility, then this is a natural gift.
Blogger Insa says that even if the photo with the naked girl is edited, social networks and Anfisa's website still raise questions. “I have at my disposal photos and videos where the girl is naked to the waist,” she says. — I gave them to the UK. They are easy enough to check for authenticity, and this is the business of specialists. But we must not forget that Inna Ryazhkina has a very stretched concept of what pictures in clothes are. Hundreds of publicly exposed photographs of an underage girl in swimsuits, tights or underwear is not the norm, and it is not the same as pictures in ordinary casual clothes.
According to the child clinical psychologist Irina Katin-Yartseva, child modeling can be different, and if some practices can help the child and be interesting to him, then others, most likely, will only harm. Katin-Yartseva explains: it's one thing when a child engages in a studio or a circle for his own pleasure, communicates with peers, learns something, and photographs become just a by-product, not a goal. In such a situation, the child is not used. Another thing is when everything revolves around a product whose sale is put on stream and which adults can buy for dubious purposes. “Even if the child himself does not understand what is happening and what meanings are invested in his images, on an emotional level he will have the feeling that he is being used,” says the psychologist. “And when relatives do this, serious trauma is already possible here - it can occur when loved ones abuse the child’s trust instead of, on the contrary, protecting him.”
Katin-Yartseva emphasizes that she cannot comment on a specific situation related to Inna Ryazhkina and her story. “But in the abstract, I can say: if children’s pictures raise questions for many, if not one person, but many perceive them as sexualized, if it seems to us that a child is being exploited, most likely it doesn’t seem to us,” the psychologist believes. People feel when something is wrong. It's very difficult to confuse live baby photos in a natural context with sexualized, "adult" photos."
If the person who publishes such photographs says that he does not see “anything sexual” in them, questions naturally arise for him, Katin-Yartseva believes. “If a person gets a benefit by posting pictures, it’s completely normal not to take his word for it in this situation,” says the psychologist. “Especially when everyone but him sees the sexualized overtones.”
At the same time, people around the child - family friends, teachers - may not pay attention to what is happening. “It can be scary for us to think about some things,” explains Katin-Yartseva. We say to ourselves: “This cannot be, it seemed to us.” This is a normal defensive reaction - this is how the mental mechanisms of denial and repression work. Anfisa Ryazhkina's father and brother did not respond to Kholod's messages.
According to blogger Insa, she intends to ensure that Ryazhkina is punished. The blogger believes that Ryazhkin should be prosecuted for producing pornographic materials involving a child. She adds that, in her opinion, the girl herself will need psychological help. Inna Ryazhkina herself says that in this situation she is sure that she is right and wants only one thing - "for people to know the truth."
Anfisa herself uses social networks and knows that her photos are being discussed on the Internet. According to Inna Ryazhkina, recently her daughter began to “behave more constrainedly” during photo shoots - “she is afraid to move, she doesn’t know how to get up so that they don’t say anything bad about her.” The girl herself does not give interviews, and her condition can only be judged from the words of her mother.
