Workers who went on strike in Buryatia under the pretext of coronavirus were sent to self-isolation

Employees of the energy company TGK-14 in Ulan-Ude, who started a protest because of low wages, were suspended from work and, under the pretext of a coronavirus threat, were transferred to self-isolation. This is reported by the trade union publication "Solidarity".

On the eve of the action, representatives of the employer came to the workers. One of the girls who arrived soon said that she had contracted a coronavirus infection and pointed to the protesting workers, saying that she had been in contact with them. After that, the workers were sent to self-isolation.

The union added that most of the local administrative staff continues to work, despite the fact that they too have been in contact with infected workers and management representatives.

The reason for the dissatisfaction of the TGC-14 staff is the failure of the management to fulfill the agreement to join the industry tariff agreement after the last protest of workers in the fall of 2020. The workers demand to increase the wage fund and the volume of social guarantees to the tariff rate.
