The editor-in-chief of the Rostov publication “Golos” Igor Khoroshilov was detained after leaving a special detention center, where he was serving 10 days of arrest because of a post about “Smart Voting,” lawyer Evgeniy Berkovich told OVD-Info.
11:13 Khoroshilov was taken to police department No. 7. A report was drawn up against him under the article on the demonstration of extremist symbols (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code) because of a repost about “Smart Voting,” said lawyer Berkovich, who assisted him.
Previously, Khoroshilov was detained on September 10, the court arrested him under the article on the demonstration of extremist symbols (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code).
The journalist is also a witness in two criminal cases: one of them was brought against blogger Sergei Reznik under the article on the rehabilitation of Nazism (Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code), the second - under the article on drug possession (Article 228 of the Criminal Code).
“We are afraid that within ten days of arrest [against Khoroshilov] there may be a new charge and he will become an accused, since he greatly irritates the authorities. Center “E” is trying in every possible way to tie him to Reznik and at the same time send a signal to Reznik himself so that he does not return to the country,” Berkovich told Caucasian Knot.
18:45 Igor Khoroshilov was again sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest under the article on the demonstration of extremist symbols (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code). The decision was made by the Proletarsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don. Activatika reports this.
Khoroshilov was arrested again because he again reposted a post on Facebook with the symbols of “Smart Voting,” for which he was prosecuted on September 10. The journalist did this to explain to readers what he was charged with.
