The Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit with the Basmanny District Court of Moscow demanding the liquidation of the Astrea non-profit organization, the Moscow partners of the human rights foundation. The fund reported this to Mediazona.
The reason was that when making changes to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the founder Elena Yezhova indicated that she was at that time registered as registered, but in fact she was not there, the lawsuit states. The Ministry of Justice considered this a gross violation.
The document records her movements by car from March 2020 to March 2021. Then it is indicated what decisions she made during this period.
Since 2007, the ECHR has adopted 66 positive decisions filed by Astrea. The organization protects the rights of women and children, deals with problems of domestic and sexual violence, as well as the problem of abductions in the North Caucasus.
Corrected at 16:57. Earlier in the news the incorrect name of the founder was indicated.
