A specialist in disinfection and disinsection from Yekaterinburg, Alexander Bezzhaev, tried a watermelon moistened with an substance to combat insects lambda-cygalotrin. It was they, according to investigators, that could mortally poison the grandmother and granddaughter from Moscow, who ate the watermelon from the Magnit store. With the help of his experiment, Okhizheev wanted to prove that people could not be poisoned by insecticides in food products and that the disinfector Anton Kotov arrested in the case of poisoning is not to blame.
On September 9 and 10, a 61-year-old woman and her 15-year-old granddaughter, who were hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning, died in Moscow. Before hospitalization, they ate a watermelon purchased in the Magnit store.
On this watermelon, as well as other watermelons from the store, experts found traces of lambda-cygalotrin (the active substance of the Tsigatrin insecticide) and concluded that it was he who could cause poisoning.
In the case, an employee of Klimovsk-dez company Anton Kotov was detained, who carried out a disinsection at Magnet. He was accused of providing services that did not meet security requirements, and sent under arrest. Kotov did not plead guilty.
Ogozhaev posted two videos on his YouTube channel, in which he impregnes a watermelon with a “paragraph” means (lambda-cygalotrin is its active substance). The first of them was published on September 14, the second on September 21, but the media drew attention to them only on September 24.
In the first video, Vozhgayev pours several pieces of watermelon “paragraph” and tries them immediately. In the second - for a couple of days he leaves a whole watermelon to soak into the "paragraph". In order for insecticide to penetrate the crust, it breaks several holes in it. Then, in both rollers, Ogozhaev tries the watermelon on the camera and spits out. He draws attention to the fact that in the place where the insecticide came to the pulp, it became bitter, changed the color and acquired an unpleasant odor.
“Guys, where Lambda penetrated - bitterly. It is impossible to eat. If a person specially bite away, he will spit out everything. It is impossible to poison people with chemistry from insects, because it contains bitterness, it is specially added. How do not understand this, huh? Why did you put Antokha? " - says Ozhaev. At the same time, in the second video, he also tries a piece on the other side of the watermelon, where there were no holes in the crust, and notes that it tastes “normal”.
Okhozhaev told Lente.ru and Komsomolskaya Pravda that he feels good. “Lambda-cygalotrin is a well-known pyreroid . Many disinfectors, especially those who work on cockroaches, know it very well. For everyone, this was a surprise that someone died from him. We tasted him. One way or another, he falls into our mouth, on the tongue or lips. Everyone knows that he is bitter. A slight numbness can occur from hitting the tongue - and that’s all. In large quantities to drink or eat it is unrealistic. The lethal dose is quite significant. You need to drink a gram of 100 unrealistically bitter concentrate. There is immediately a vomiting reflex, ”said Okhozhaev.
In a conversation with Znak.com, he said that he works in the field of disinfection and disinsection for more than 10 years and that after the incident in Moscow his colleagues and clients began to be nervous. The first-due to the proposal of Rospotrebnadzor, introduce licenses for their work, and the latter-to be poisoned due to fear. However, according to Okhzhaev, the degree of danger of insecticides is comparable to washing powder and gasoline, with which people are dealing with every day, and the introduction of licenses will lead to disinfectors and disinfectors will lose their jobs. “I believe that this is a panic out of the blue, that the disinfector [Anton Kotov] has nothing to do with it,” Zazhevev said.
