Mansi children refuse to eat at the boarding school in the north of the Sverdlovsk region

“I conducted a lesson for the children of Mansi, we made postcards,” says Anna Voronkova, a Moscow teacher who came to the north in the direction of the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences to engage in creative work to preserve and develop the Mansi language. - And one child painted a picture that he signed: "I want to eat." It shocked me. I saw that at school children refuse to eat, constantly complaining about abdominal pain. And they have no other food.

Anna has long known Ivdel Mansi. There are only forty people, and they are carriers of a unique dialect that the teacher studies in his expeditions. Seeing the problems of Mansi’s children at school No. 3 in the village of midnight in the Ivdel district of the Sverdlovsk region, she took the complaint to the local administration.

The reaction of officials shocked almost more than children's hunger.

“Eight children are constantly living in the boarding school,” says Anna. - Their parents lead a traditional lifestyle, live in the forest, work there. The nearest school - 120 km - in the village of midnight. School education is mandatory, so Mansi has no choice, they have to leave their parents. If they had a family school, perhaps it would be better.

Anna is outraged: children are forced to eat products that Mansi usually do not eat-buckwheat, brown bread, milk ... Presumably, because of this, three out of eight complain of constant abdominal pain. If they do not eat, they scream at them. The teachers and educators themselves explain that they do not shout at the children, they have "just such a voice."

“I have Hunt's mother by nationality,” Maria Launonen from the Baltic states told the “new”. -I once made a genetic test and revealed in the non-recovery of lactose. This was transmitted to me genetically. Mansi and Khanty in the vast majority of lactose cannot be tolerated. In their organisms there are no enzymes necessary for processing lactose. When lactose enters the body, abdominal pain begins. Therefore, Mansi children refuse milk cereals.

The age of the Mansi children at the school of round -the -clock stay from 12 to 17 years.

“The cooks do not know the features of the nutrition of Mansi, and the educators are the features of the culture of this small people,” the Moscow teacher is sure. -They shout at them, do not understand why it is difficult for children to read Russian. Children communicate in the national language - parents raise children so that the Mansiyan remains their relatives.

According to Anna, two years ago she had a comic book project. The eldest son of Lisa painted a very good comic book in the Ivdel dialect of Mansi. But the school does not give any specific knowledge, there are two rooms decorated in the style of this people. Formally, there is a Mansi, but no one really knows anything about them. As part of the state program, money is allocated for the small northern nation, and here even eight children cannot be organized. A separate menu for Mansi hangs in the school, but it is the same as for the rest, without taking into account the specifics of nutrition.

“I don't understand how possible.” On the one hand, there are careers where precious metals are extracted, on the other hand, Mansi children who live like in prison, ”says Anna. - Parents try not to climb into their souls, because it is not accepted. And the children try to endure and not complain, so as not to disturb their parents. Pandemia turned the boarding school into jail. Parents come from the forest and cannot go inside, see under what conditions their children live. All this is justified by security measures and the fight against Covid.

On August 15, the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Yevgeny Kuyvashev came to the north of the region and met with Mansi, who complained, including poor food in schools.

“On Monday, we went to the administration with a statement from mothers that they were asking for a check of household conditions and adjust the menu to the national characteristics of Mansi,” Anna continues. - The administration told me that there is no such problem that I invented it. It is strange that for two years people talk about it, and officials heard only from me.

Parents wrote a statement, sent him to the Ivdel administration. A secret check was planned, but it turned out prepared: at the school, to arrive the commission, they launched hot water, hung toilet paper, laid out the soap. According to Elizabeth Bakhtiyarova, one of Mam Mansi, usually this is not all. As a result, the officials reported to the governor that the audit was carried out, everything is at the highest level, no one complains.

“The director explained to us that the financing of Mansi is partially from the budget and partially - at the expense of industrial companies, which in this way compensate for the harm to the peoples living at the expense of nature,” Anna is indignant. - Why can not be added to children of white bread?

The director nods everything to SanPiN, according to which you can give children 30 grams of white and black bread, and not a gram more.

During the meeting, Michel (head of Ivdel. - I. D.) said: “Well, we add another piece of bread.” I was very surprised. The child can eat half the loaf, but he will not go yet, because it is humiliating. Why can't you just cut it so that it is lying, and the children can take as much as they want?

The fact that children complain about food was also told by the correspondent of "Novy" by Natalya Anyamova, the mother of three children living at school in the midnight. Natasha herself works as a cook in the forest, it rarely gets in touch. When the children come on vacation, they leave. The daughter of Natasha developed gastritis, she will have to take her for examination.

“We are trying to help all Mansi addressed,” said Valery Zenkov, chairman of the public organization “Social Assistance and Support of the Ivdel Mansi”. - Anna told me about children at school. We went to the Education Department. They wanted to agree on two pieces of white bread, but it did not work. I offered to pay for bread in a local store so that the school could pick it up and give it to children. But everything again came down to SanPin.

After mothers wrote a complaint to the governor and to the department of education of Ivdel, officials turned to the police. Anna was taken to the department where she had to write an explanation that she did not tune anyone against school. Now they plan to interview the police to interview Mansi, trying to find out the cause of the hype.

“Food at the school is good, five -time,” said Olga Galasheva, director of the MAOU secondary school No. 3 with a round -the -clock stay in the village of Midnight. - Neither children nor parents have ever complained. We eat not only Mansi, but also 160 children of primary school. There were never any problems with nutrition.

According to the school director, annually the number of Mansi children decreases. In 2016 there were 14 children. In the next academic year, one child is expected in elementary school.

“I do not understand the goal of Anna Voronkova,” Olga Galasheva is surprised. - Children say that they are all satisfied with, parents also do not complain. It turns out that Anna herself calls her parents, says that everything is bad here and offers to write a letter. She inspires them that you need to complain. For what purpose, I do not know. They ask Olenin and Losyatin, but the meat should only be certified, we have no right to purchase. We lived with one friendly family until Anna Alexandrovna appeared. Children themselves are already coming and complaining that they are tired of this situation. Of course, you can understand them - at school, checking for the check.

According to the audit No. 662104912619, carried out by Rospotrebnadzor of the Sverdlovsk region at school No. 3 in May, violations were identified. We will not list all, we will call only some. There is no ventilation in the catering unit warehouse where the products are stored. The storage temperature is 23 degrees Celsius instead of the required 2-8 degrees. Two school employees did not go through mandatory medical examinations. The deadline for eliminating violations is the beginning of October 2021.

In 2018, when the first complaints from his parents went, Rospotrebnadzor checked the school five times, only 36 violations were recorded in the first audit, many of which were associated with the nutrition of schoolchildren and the work of the catering unit.
